Toxic Air outside of Wayne Middle School - Dennis Stratton

Toxic Air outside of Wayne Middle School - Dennis Stratton
Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 12:41pm

USA Today is continuing its story of Toxic Air outside of schools. Here is a link to the worst seven in the US. Note that 4 of the 7 listed schools are in PA, with one of the 4 being in Erie, PA.. The Wayne School. This speaks volumes for the quality of work done, and the protection offered by our Pennsylvania, DEP., and the EPA. No wonder Rubino keeps repeating, "Let the DEP do its Job???"

KEEP has been trying to tell people that PA has some of the worst air emissions in the country. I hope that reading it in a national newspaper will start making some people wake up and smell the pollution. As the Editors at the Erie Times once said, "Something Stinks!", and it is not the change in the Air Emission Ordinance that the people of Erie, want, and need. Who is the Times looking out for?

Dennis Stratton

USA TODAY took "snapshot" air samples outside 95 schools. The highest readings for toxic chemicals appeared near these seven schools, listed below by city and state. There, the concentrations of chemicals were high enough that they could cause serious illnesses or increase the risk of cancer if people were exposed to those levels for a long time.

Here is a link to the map of the US that shows hot spots, and concentrations of Toxic Air. Notice that Pennsylvania has more dark spots, and concentrations than almost anywhere in the country!!!
